Orange Nut Bread

 

4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

1 3/4 c. sugar

4 tsp. baking powder

1 1/2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. baking soda

1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

2 tbs. grated orange peel

2 eggs

1 c. milk

1 c. orange juice

1/4 c. butter, melted

 

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Stir in nuts and orange peel.

 

In a small bowl, beat the eggs, milk, orange juice, and butter. Stir mixture into the dry ingredients just until moistened. Pour into 2 greased 8x4x2-inch loaf pans.

 

Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

 

Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Turn loaf onto a wire rack to cool completely.
