Maple Spread

 

1 c. real maple syrup

3/4 c. butter

 

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat syrup until it reaches the soft-ball candy stage (235 to 250 degrees). Add in butter and stir until it melts. Pour in a deep bowl and beat with an electric mixer until spread is thick and creamy.

 

Makes 1 3/4 cups
