Burn
Candles
Safely
If
your decor includes candles, follow these tips for safety and
beauty.
|
 |
|
| 1. Keep
candles away from windows, air conditioning vents, fans, and drafts to
prevent the formation of soot. |
| 2. Trim
the wick to 1/4 inch before lighting the candle. This step helps
control the flame and promotes even burning. |
| 3. Limit
burn times. Jar or pillar candles that are lit for too long can become
lopsided, ruining the pleasant atmosphere you want to achieve. As a
rule, burn the candle one hour for every inch of its diameter. |
| 4. Use a snuffer
if you have one to keep hot wax from splattering. |

Take a
Great
Group Photo
Would
you like to remember your event with a group photo? Use these tips from
a celebrity photographer to make your picture a treasure. Then get
everyone together and say "Cheese!"
|
| 1.
Plan for the right time of day. Take the picture too early and you
might have puffy faces. Do it too late and you may highlight dark
circles. If your group includes children, remember to work around nap
schedules. |
| 2.
Choose a place where the group can relax. The background should be
interesting, but keep it simple. |
| 3. Let
everyone dress like themselves, but give them some guidelines. Very
bright colors, strong stripes, and bold prints are distracting. Pale
colors make people look bigger. Trendy styles will quickly date your
photo. |
| 4. Don't
overly pose people. Don't panic if a child covers her face or
looks away from the camera. Those "imperfect moments" will give your
photo character. |
