2/3 c. milk 1/2 c. finely shredded cheddar cheese 1/4 c. butter, melted 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. dill weed 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. 2. Mix the baking mix, milk, and cheese in a bowl until blended. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. 3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. 4. While biscuits are baking, mix butter, garlic powder, and dill weed together. Brush hot biscuits with the butter mixture. Crescent Roll Snacks Each recipe makes 8 servings Cranberry Orange: 1 can crescent rolls 1/3 c. finely chopped cranberries 2 tbs. cracker crumbs 1 tbs. grated orange peel 1 tsp. sugar Parsley Onion: 1 can crescent rolls 1 tbs. butter, melted 1/2 tsp. minced or finely chopped onion 1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes Country Herb: 1 can crescent rolls 1 tbs. sour cream 1/2 tsp. minced or chopped onion 1/2 tsp. dried parsley flakes 1/2 tsp. ground sage 1/4 tsp. celery salt 1. Unroll
dough and separate into 8 triangles. Makes 12 2 c. self-rising flour 1/4 c. mayonnaise - DO NOT use light or fat-free 1 c. whole milk 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin. 2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, mayonnaise, and milk with a fork, stirring only enough to moisten the flour. 3. Divide the dough equally between the muffin cups and bake for 20 minutes. Herb & Onion Wheat Biscuits Can be made ahead* Makes 10 biscuits 1 c. diced onion 3/4 c. milk 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. dried oregano 1/4 tsp. dried basil 1/4 c. chilled butter, cut into small pieces 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 2. Heat a small skillet coated with nonstick spray over medium heat. Add onion and cook until tender, stirring frequently. Spoon onion into a blender. Add milk and process until smooth. Cool. 3. Combine flours, baking powder, salt, sugar, oregano, and basil in a large bowl. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Add onion mixture and stir until just moistened. 4. Turn dough out on a heavily floured surface (dough will be sticky). Knead lightly 5 times with floured hands. Roll dough to a 1/2-inch thickness and cut into 10 3-inch biscuits. Place on a greased baking sheet. 5. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden. *Can be made
ahead and frozen for a week. When ready to serve, thaw, wrap in foil,
and heat
in a 325-degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Quick & Easy Cinnamon Rolls Makes 12 rolls 4 1/2 c. baking mix 1 1/3 c. milk Filling: 2 tbs. butter, softened 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. ground cinnamon Icing: 2 c. confectioners' sugar 2 tbs. milk 2 tbs. butter, melted 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Grease a large baking sheet. 2. In a bowl, combine baking mix and milk. Turn onto a floured surface and knead 8 to 10 times. Roll the dough into a 12x10-inch rectangle. Spread with 2 tbs. butter. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the butter. 3. Roll up from a long side and pinch seams to seal. Cut into 12 slices. Place with cut side down on the prepared pan. 4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. As rolls bake, combine icing ingredients. Spread icing over warm rolls and serve. |
