What Is a Brunch???

What Is a Brunch? Brunch Defined

Brunch is defined as a late morning or early afternoon meal – usually occurring between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The menu often consists of a combination of breakfast and lunch dishes, although your options are really endless.

Typical “breakfast” items include eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, fruits, pastries, and pancakes. “Lunch” items may be quiches, roasts of meat or poultry, cold seafood (such as shrimp and smoked fish), salads, soups, breads, and desserts.

Drinks served vary. While many brunches include a variety of alcoholic drinks (Mimosas, Bellinis, and Bloody Marys are popular), you can just as easily serve coffee, tea, and juice.

We have a variety of free brunch recipes for you to try. Some of the categories overlap, so if you don’t see what you want, keep looking or contact us for help.

When Should You Have a Brunch?

Holiday brunches are popular meals (Easter and Mother’s Day), as are those for special occasions (weddings, bridal and baby showers). But you can just as easily have one to celebrate anything – or nothing!

Where Do You Serve a Brunch?

Serve your brunch anywhere that works for you. An outdoor setting can be charming if your menu and the weather are appropriate. Set a table in front of a cozy fireplace for a delightful winter event.
